Abstract
Sensor for household appliances, in particular washing machines and dishwashers, comprising a housing which comprises first and second housing fingers extending from a basis, a first optical element being arranged in the first housing finger a second optical element which is arranged in the second housing finger wherein a sensing beam transmitted and received by the optical elements is propagating between the housing fingers external to the housing for sensing of the turbidity of a cleaning medium at least partially surrounding the housing and a temperature sensor which is arranged in the second housing finger in a greater distance from the basis compared to the second optical element for sensing the temperature of the cleaning medium.
