Abstract
An IC card ( ) incorporating a semiconductor memory. The IC card comprises a substantially rectangular card body ( ), a terminal section ( ) provided at the distal end of the card body ( ), which is to be first inserted into an apparatus, and an identification recess made in a proximal end of the card body ( ), which is opposite to the distal end. The user can determine the specification of the IC card by touching the identification recess ( ) with the finger.
