A method for separating at least one compound from a liquid mixture containing different compounds where anew crystalline manganese phosphate composition with the formula Mn (PO ) .2(H NCH CH ) N.6(H O) is dispersed in the liquid mixture, selectively intercalating one or more compounds into the crystalline structure of the Mn (PO ) .2(H NCH CH ) N.6(H O).
