Abstract

A first insulator ( ) is combined with a connector body comprising a second insulator ( ), signal contacts ( ) and ground contacts ( ). The first insulator ( ) is provided with separator accommodation slits ( ); and cable receiving portions ( ). Each cable receiving portion ( ) is arranged between the respective neighboring separator accommodation slits ( ) and is able to hold one of the balanced transmission cables ( ). Separators ( ) connected to ground contacts ( ) are fitted within the separator accommodation slits ( ) so that end portions of balanced transmission cables ( ) are positioned between the respective neighboring separators ( ) and are electrically shielded by them. The first insulator ( ) holds ground plates ( ) so that each of the cable receiving portions ( ) is also arranged between the ground plates ( ). The separators ( ) and the ground plates ( ) define tubular enclosures for surrounding end portions of the respective balanced transmission cables.
