Abstract
A backrest construction for the front seat of a motor vehicle, with a backrest frame ( ), a backrest head ( ), node points ( ) arranged on both sides of the lower part of the backrest frame ( ) and a lower crossbeam ( ) arranged between the node points ( ). To be able to manufacture the backrest construction in a lightweight design, some of the structural parts, namely the backrest frame ( ) and the crossbeam ( ), for example, are made of extruded sections, while the other structural parts, such as the node points ( ) and the backrest head ( ) are die-cast parts.
