Abstract

A tubular assembly which includes a first (or outer) tube ( ), a second (or inner) tube ( ) and a plug ( ) within the second tube ( ) is described. The plug ( ) resides within at least a portion of the second tube ( ), which itself resides within a portion of the first tube ( ). The first ( ) and second ( ) tubes each have perforations ( ), at least some of which are aligned. The plug ( ) has cavities ( ) in its exterior surface ( ), at least some of which are aligned with the aligned perforations ( ). Plastic material (e.g., thermoplastic material) is molded through aligned perforations ( ) and at least partially fills aligned cavities ( ). The edges ( ) of aligned perforations ( ) are embedded in the plastic material ( ) molded therethrough. The plastic material ( ) extending through aligned perforations ( ), into cavities ( ) and embedding perforation edges ( ) therein, serves to fixedly attach the first tube ( ), second tube ( ) and plug ( ) together.
