Abstract
A joint portion of an oil pump shaft and a balancer shaft (output-side balancer shaft ) is provided in an open space between opposite surfaces of a sidewall of an oil pump housing and a sidewall (a bearing portion) of a balancer shaft housing . The joint portion of the oil pump shaft and the balancer shaft is comprised of a pair of engageable portions provided at each end of the balancer shaft and the oil pump shaft , respectively. The engageable portions are disengageably engaged with each other in radial directions of the shafts . The joint portion can be seen from the outside, and thus a joining operation can be performed with ease.
