Abstract
The surface plasmon resonance apparatus ( ) for detecting a soluble and/or particulate analyte comprises a prism sensor ( ) providing a metallised sensor surface ( ) capable of binding the analyte, and a laser ( ) providing a beam ( ) for direction at the sensor surface ( ). A detector ( ) is provided which is capable of detecting light ( ), which is internally reflected from the sensor surface ( ). An analyte sample ( ) is disposed on the metallic sensor ( ).
