Abstract
An electron gun for a color cathode ray tube efficiently modulates magnetic field of a velocity modulation coil. The electron gun contains at least two focus electrodes receiving a fixed focus voltage, and the focus electrodes are arranged in a row in the electron gun. When a sum of lengths of the focus electrodes is 'L' and a sum of intervals of the electrodes is 'g', the relationship (g×100)/L=5-30(%) is satisfied.
