Abstract
A disk device of the present invention includes a switch for mechanically detecting a displacement of an optical pickup , provided on a movable body , to a disk inner peripheral position and for switching its internal state. The switch also detects the inner peripheral positions of a minidisk and a compact disk. The disk device also includes a movable member , which switches the internal state of the switch when the movable body is displaced to the disk inner peripheral position. The displacement of the optical pickup to the inner peripheral position on a minidisk or a compact disk is detected based on the internal state of the switch and the flow direction of current supplied to the motor for driving the movable body
