Abstract

A high-voltage spark gap device for operation in conjunction with a high-power electric generator and including an electric trigger system and at least two mutually spaced spherical main electrodes that cooperate pairwise and face each other, means for closing the current loop that are separated by a dielectric from the electrodes, the electric trigger system having as many trigger electrodes as there are main electrodes, the trigger electrodes being fitted with an insulating protector received in each main electrode of the device.
