A component ( ) which includes a material formed from a glass/polymer mixture. The component has first regions, in which the glass is present substantially in the form of spherical particles ( ) and second regions, in which the glass is present in the form of fibre-type particles ( ). A component of this type advantageously provides both mechanical stability and dimensional consistency in separate areas within the same component.
