Abstract
A method of extracting a catheter assembly with an extracting device. The catheter includes a tissue ingrowth cuff that is grown into a subcutaneous location. The extracting device includes a handle and a head having an external gripping surface which is sized for inserting into a lumen of the catheter assembly for gripping an internal surface of the catheter assembly within the tissue ingrowth cuff and dislodging the cuff from surrounding tissue.
