Abstract

A method of automatically transforming an arbitrary pixel image into a corresponding simulated water color like image is disclosed. The method includes dividing the image into regions ( ) having substantially the same color characteristics ( ). Once divided, the borders ( ) of the regions are determined and filtered. The filtering utilizes the color of the regions on each side of the border to produce a mixture color along the border.
