Abstract

A hub assembly includes a core of prior art construction held together between a pair of end plates by a cylindrical sleeve , the end plates being braced by flange and nut tightened on threaded end of the sleeve . The end plates have an outer ring with apertures for hollow pins to support the core and a cavity with flowable material for balancing the hub. The pins are held in place by plugs which are inserted into the interior of the pin and the pin expanded outwardly by compressing the plug within the interior of said pin to wedge the exterior of the pin within an aperture of the end plate . Each end plate may be ribbed having radially extending apertures to reduce weight and to aid ventilation of the hub.
