Abstract
A brake booster ( ) having a housing ( ) with an interior separated into a front chamber ( ) and a rear chamber ( ) by a wall ( ) retained on a peripheral surface ( ) of a cylindrical body ( ) of a hub ( ). The cylindrical body ( ) is characterized by having a radial flange ( ) that extends from a first end ( ), a ledge ( ) located adjacent the radial flange ( ), an annular shoulder ( ) that extends from the peripheral surface ( ) and a groove ( ) located between the ledge ( ) and shoulder ( ). The groove ( ) has a depth (d) adjacent the shoulder ( ) that is approximately equal to the height (h) of the shoulder ( ) above the peripheral surface ( ) and a side wall ( ) that transitions from the groove ( ) into the ledge ( ). The wall ( ) is characterized by a metal disc ( ) having an axial flange ( ) that extends from a first end ( ) into an annular slot ( ) in a diaphragm ( ) to define a lip ( ).
