Abstract
This invention relates to a segmental tire building drum ( ) for laminating tire components ( ) having a plurality of circumferentially spaced, radially movable base segments ( ) each having a secondary segment ( ) radially movable relative to the base segment for providing a cylindrical flat surface to support each of the tire components as it is applied and spliced on the building drum and to compensate for thickened edges of the tire components applied to the tire building drum.
