Abstract
A downsized spindle motor having a longer bearing service life and enhanced shock resistance includes a flange , which bears an axial load of a shaft , and which is fixed to an end of shaft . Laser welded section is provided at the fixed section between shaft and flange . Rotor hub is fixed to another end of shaft , and laser welded section firmly bonds the two elements.
