Abstract
A solid state radiation detector is formed by stacking a first electrode layer , a recording photoconductive layer , a charge transfer layer , a reading photoconductive layer , and a second electrode layer having a stripe electrode consisting of main elements , in the recited order. A large number of secondary elements , for outputting an electrical signal which has a level proportional to a quantity of latent image charge stored in a charge storage portion formed in the interface between the recording photoconductive layer and the charge transfer layer , are provided so that the main and secondary elements are alternately arranged in parallel to one another. The width W of the main element , the transmission factor P of the main element with respect to the reading light, the width W of the secondary element , and the transmission factor P of the secondary element with respect to the reading light are determined so that they satisfy a condition equation of (W ×P )/(W ×P )≧1.
