Abstract
It is an object of the present invention to implement a display providing high optical efficiency irrespective of the size of a light valve, and capable of enhancing the uniformity of the luminance of an image to be projected. In order to attain the foregoing object, for example, as shown in FIG. , a light valve of a projector is located roughly at the focus point of an illumination lens . Further, as shown in FIG. , a light source is also located roughly at the focus point of the illumination lens . Consequently, it is possible to implement a miniaturized projector.
