Abstract
A polarizable electrode ( ) includes an activated carbon/carbon composite consisting essentially of an activated carbon component and a carbon component. The activated carbon component includes activated carbon powder or fiber. The carbon component is produced by carbonizing a thermosetting resin. The composite has a density within a range between 0.70 and 0.85 g/cm , both inclusive, and a thickness within another range between 0.7 and 3.0 cm, both inclusive.
