Abstract

In a current detecting circuit, a virtual earth generating circuit generates a low voltage V lower by a predetermined potential difference than a battery voltage V outputted from anon-vehicle battery . A CPU operates while the low voltage V is used as an earth potential and the voltage V higher by the predetermined voltage value than the low voltage V is used as a power-supply voltage. A/D conversion input terminals and of the CPU are connected to the battery side of a current detecting resistor and the load side of the resistor . The voltages on the battery side and the load side of the resistor to be inputted to the terminals and are detected by an A/D converter . A load current I is calculated based on the detected results and the resistor resistance.
