Abstract

Method for screening the risk for gastric cancer using, in combination, the determination of serum pepsinogen I, gastrin-17 and the supporting determination of antibodies from blood serum, in order to detect either atrophy of the corpus area, atrophy of the antrum area or atrophy of the mucosa of the whole stomach as well as a causative infection, whereby the risk for gastric cancer can be evaluated and the necessary gastroscopy and follow-up can be planned.
