Abstract

The invention concerns an intake manifold ( ) comprising a plenum ( ) and air ducts ( ) one of which at least, for each combustion chamber of the engine, has a sudden enlargement ( ) of its passage cross-section, immediately followed in downstream direction by a duct portion ( ) having a gradually decreasing cross-section and ending ( ) upstream of a flange fixing ( ) the manifold ( ) to the engine and its cylinder head. The plenum ( ) and each of the air ducts ( ) at least are made of synthetic material, preferably capable of being molded. The invention is useful for equipping internal combustion engine with pistons driven in reciprocating movement in the cylinders.
