Abstract
A zipper ( ) having interlocking profiles ( ) wherein the male profile ( ) has at least two male ribs ( ) bordering a male rib ( ). The male profile ( ) is engagable with a female profile ( ), wherein the female profile ( ) includes grooves ( ). The grooves ( ), attached to each other by a bridge ( ), engage the male ribs ( ). With the profiles ( ) engaged, the male rib ( ) pushes against the bridge ( ) and thereby pushes the bridge against the packaging film during attachment such that the profiles ( ) are stabilized during sealing to the packaging film. As part of a pre-made zipper ( ), the male rib ( ) can be attached to the bridge ( ) to form a barrier seal within the zipper ( ).
