Abstract

The present invention relates to ester derivatives of 1,4-dihydropyridine-5-carboxylic acid of formula (I) wherein R , R and R may be a coumarin group. These compounds possess an anti-viral activity. Most of the anti-viral compounds known in the art are nucleoside-derivatives. Various viruses become resistent against these. Because the compounds according to the invention are not nucleoside-derivatives, they form a suitable alternative. The invention also relates to a method of preparing the anti-viral substances according to the invention.
