Abstract
A closed motor-driven compressor includes a compression component ( ) and an electric component ( ) for driving the compression component ( ), both of which are elastically supported within a closed vessel ( ). A suction muffler ( ) is mounted on the compression component ( ) and includes a plurality of elements ( ) assembled together and each made of synthetic resin. One of the plurality of elements ( ) has a guide rib ( ) integrally formed therewith that is tapered down toward an adjoining one of the plurality of elements ( ), thereby facilitating assembly of the two elements.
