Abstract
A relay adhesion detecting device ( ) of the invention is installed in an electric motor vehicle wherein a relay ( ) is provided between a power source unit ( ) comprising a plurality of secondary batteries and a load circuit including an electric motor for effecting or interrupting the supply of current from the power supply unit ( ) to the load circuit. The device ( ) comprises one secondary battery ( ) included among the batteries of the power source unit ( ), the relay ( ), an adhesion detecting circuit ( ) and a CPU ( ). The CPU ( ) detects adhesion in the relay ( ) due to melting by detecting the presence or absence of current flowing through a closed loop circuit comprising the secondary battery ( ), the relay ( ) and the adhesion detecting circuit ( ).
