Abstract
In a diesel engine ( ) provided with an exhaust gas recirculation mechanism ( ), a fuel injection timing is calculated by considering a delay of air aspirated by the cylinders of the engine ( ) and a delay of exhaust gas recirculation. By performing fuel injection based on this fuel injection timing, conditions of combustion in a cylinder of the engine ( ) are improved.
