Abstract

An audio/control head for used in a Video Cassette Recorder or the like has a core holder arranged to include positioning portions and for determining the pitch length P and pressing tabs having an elasticity for pressing inwardly cores members and against the positioning portions and from the outer side. As the cores members and are held directly on the positioning portions and , they are inwardly pressed by the pressing tabs . Then, the core pitch p is precisely determined between the audio core and the control core without using a particular jig during the assembly. The overall number of jigs required for mounting the cores to the core holder can be reduced. Also, the core pitch P can be improved in the accuracy and the characteristics of the head will be consistent.
