Abstract

A launcher ( ) is provided having a separation unit ( ) and a launch tube ( ) in fluid communication with the separation unit ( ). The separation unit ( ) has a pressure sensing chamber ( ) for sensing the pressure within the separation unit ( ), a separation chamber ( ) in fluid communication with the pressure sensing chamber ( ), and a combustion chamber ( ) in fluid communication with the separation chamber ( ). The combustion chamber ( ) is in fluid communication with the launch tube ( ) through opening ( ). The rocket launcher ( ) also includes a hydrogen separation circuit ( ) and an ignition circuit ( ). The hydrogen separation circuit ( ) includes a battery pack ( ) electrically coupled to a fuel cell ( ) which when powered separates water into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas. The ignition circuit ( ) includes a piezoelectric spark generator ( ) for igniting the hydrogen gas produced by the fuel cell and contained within the combustion.
