Abstract

The invention provides for improvements in composition and methods for the preservation of cellulosic materials through use of solutions comprising organic multi-valent metal carbonates, C -C alcohol having a moisture content of less than 100 ppm, and 86-99 weight percent of a solvent having a moisture content of less than 100 ppm.
