Abstract
The present invention relates to a controller ( ), a cabin pressure control system ( ) and a method for controlling pressure in a cabin ( ), especially an aircraft cabin. In accordance with the invention the controller ( ) comprises a channel ( ) and a pressure differential safety function ( ). The channel ( ) calculates a first output signal ( ) for actuating an overflow valve ( ) in a closed loop control based on the pressure differential between the cabin ( ) and the atmosphere and additional critical parameters. The safety function ( ) calculates a second output signal ( ) based only on the pressure differential. The two output signals ( ) are compared, and the second output signal ( ) is selected, if said first output signal ( ) is found inaccurate. The safety function ( ) assures operation of the outflow valve ( ) even it the channel ( ) is out of function. Accordingly, the number of additional safety valves ( ) may be reduced so that the weight of the system ( ) is minimized. A manual control panel ( ) is provided for backup.
