Abstract
An actuator is formed from nine piezoelectric sheets stacked in this order to give a laminated configuration. A common electrode is formed on the upper surface of each piezoelectric sheet . A plurality of drive electrodes are formed the upper surface of each piezoelectric sheet . The common electrodes , a cavity plate , and a cover plate are all maintained at the same potential ( V). The lowermost piezoelectric sheet formed with the common electrode is located between the cavity plate and the lowermost drive electrodes on the piezoelectric sheet . In this configuration, an ejection voltage applied to the drive electrodes is reliably prevented from being applied to ink in a pressure chamber and/or the cavity plate , whereby reliable ink ejection is possible.
