Abstract

When pressing a pushbutton ( ) in this thin switch ( ), the pushbutton ( ) rotates at a constant stroke until a lower end of this pushbutton ( ) on the side of a permanent magnet ( ) comes into contact with a lower display panel ( ). Following this rotation, positional relation between the permanent magnet ( ) and a Hall element integrated circuit ( ) corresponding to this pushbutton ( ) changes and the Hall element integrated circuit ( ) detects change of a magnetic field by the permanent magnet ( ), whereby the pressing operation of the pushbutton ( ) is detected. When the pushing operation is canceled, the pushbutton ( ) is returned to the original state due to attractive force of the permanent magnet ( ) and a magnetic body ( ).
