Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for the isolation of a novel oligospirostanoside structurally constructed as 3-0-[&agr;-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-&agr;-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-0-&bgr;-D-glucopyranosyl]-25(S)-5&bgr; spirostan-3&bgr;-ol isolated from and biologically evaluated as a potent immunomodulatory agent.
