Abstract
Releasable PCMCIA cards ( ) suitable for plugging into the slot ( ) of a micro-computer ( ). To enable the releasable plug-in card ( ) to be used as a smart card reader, it is altered in such a way that it can receive a smart card ( ). For this purpose, the releasable card ( ) includes a guide system ( ) with a shape matching that of a smart card ( ) so that the smart card is properly positioned relative to the reader. A micro-computer or PCMCIA card may thus be protected by means of a security smart card.
