Abstract
An optical switch ( ) includes a first collimator ( ) retaining a first input fiber ( ) and a second output fiber ( ), a second collimator ( ) retaining a first output fiber ( ) and a second input fiber ( ), a switching element ( ), a driving device ( ), and a base ( ). The switching element has a third reflector ( ) fixed to the base and a first and second reflectors ( ) attached to a moveable block ( ). The driving device moves the first and the second reflectors between a first position and a second position. The switching element switches light signals coming from the first and second input fibers between the first and second output fibers depending on whether the first and second reflectors reflect the light (in the first position) or whether the third reflector reflects the light (in the second position).
