Abstract

To maintain high bonding performance between two glass sheets by metal material, thereby to obtain high gas tightness and bonding strength. A glass panel includes a pair of glass sheets ( A, B) disposed in opposition to each other with forming a gap (V) therebetween, the peripheral edges of the opposed glass sheets ( A, B) being directly bonded to each other by metal material ( ); wherein bonding faces ( Aa) in the opposed surfaces of the glass sheets ( A, B) to be bonded to the metal material ( ) are worked so as to obtain an average surface roughness below 30 nm.
