Abstract

The invention relates to an axial piston engine ( ) comprising a housing ( ) and a cylinder drum ( ) that is pivotably arranged in one interior space ( ) of the housing. Several cylinder bores ( ) are embodied in said cylinder drum ( ). Pistons ( ) are moveably guided in said cylinder bores ( ) and rest on a swash plate ( ) by means of guide shoes ( ). The axial piston engine ( ) also comprises a retracting device ( ). The guide shoes ( ) rest on the retracting device ( ) when the pistons ( ) are retracted. A restraint system ( ) is accommodated in the housing ( ), can be moved against a spring ( ) and is used for supporting the retracting device ( ) at the housing ( ). The aim of the invention is to improve and stabilise the support of the retracting device ( ). To this end, the retracting device ( ) is supported by a support device ( ) which is situated behind the retracting device ( ) at the side facing away from the swash plate ( ). The support device is connected to the swash plate ( ). The restraint system ( ) supports the back of an essentially radial locating face ( ) at the swash plate ( ) or an add-on piece thereof when the restraint system ( ) is pushed into the interior space ( ) of the housing.
