Abstract
A seat sensor including a pressure sensing mat , and several barbed members or tabs which are integrally formed within sensing mat . Sensor is adapted to be operatively installed on a conventional vehicle seat. In order to install sensor , several holes or cavities are formed within the foam of the seat in a conventional manner prior to assembly, and tabs are forced into cavities . Once tabs are inserted into cavities , barbed portions “spring” outward against the sides of the cavities , thereby frictionally engaging and/or piercing the sides of the cavities and securing seat sensor to the seat.
