Abstract

A laminator comprises a pair of pressure rolls having a substrate and a film sandwiched therebetween and bearings adapted to rotatably support opposite end portions of the pressure rolls. One end of a lever is attached to a housing of each bearing. The other end of the lever extends in an axial direction of the pressure roll and is located inward of the bearing . A pressure-applying apparatus applies force to the other end of the lever , and applies pressure through the bearing to the substrate and the film between the pair of pressure rolls . Further, the pressure-applying apparatus generates bending moment which tends to cause the pressure rolls to be projected toward each other. A shaft is disposed in spaced parallel relation to the pressure roll . Extension arms are formed in the housings of the bearings . The extension arms are connected to the shaft , to thereby enable the shaft to support the bearings . The housings of the bearings are capable of pivotal movement about the axis of the shaft and also capable of pivotal movement about the axis perpendicular to the axis of the shaft
