Abstract

An adjustment apparatus ( ) for adjusting the field lens ( ) with respect to an LCD imager ( ). The field lens ( ) may be mounted off center and/or may be only a segment of a complete lens. Guide fingers ( ) on an assembly housing ( ) fit within guide slots ( ) of a field lens mount ( ) to prevent relative rotation thereof. The field lens ( ) is secured within the field lens mount ( ). An internally threaded ring ( ) mates with external threads ( ) on the field lens mount ( ) to move the field lens mount ( ) in or out relative to the imager ( ). A retainer ( ) has preload flexures ( ) which press against posts ( ) on the field lens mount ( ) for providing preload tension thereon. Adjustment teeth ( ) on the outside of the threaded ring ( ) provide a means for rotating the threaded ring ( ).
