Abstract
A turning tool ( ) is inserted into the forward end of an outer housing ( ) and its turning tips ( ) are moved into tip receiving openings ( ) at the base of the flange ( ). The turning too ( ) is both pushed and rotated. The pushing moves the flange ( ) back from the flange ( ). The rotation rotates the inner housing ( ), a ferrule ( ) and an end portion of the cable, including an optical fiber (F) that is within the center line opening ( ) in the ferrule ( ). After the components have been rotated to provide a desired rotational position, the turning tool ( ) is removed. Friction forces between the flange ( ) and the flange ( ) and between the cylindrical surface ( ) and the cylindrical opening within the key ring ( ) hold the components in the azimuthal position that was established.
