Abstract

A magnetic recording medium includes a support, and a single magnetic layer having a thickness of 0.3 &mgr;m or less, which contains nonmagnetic particles. In the magnetic medium, the thickness of the single magnetic layer is equal to or larger than an average particle diameter of the nonmagnetic particles.
