Abstract

The invention offers a connector which allows the stable insertion of a plurality of pairs of socket contacts and plug contacts that mutually fit together with the use of an operation lever. The invention provides at least two engaging protrusions which are spaced apart in the direction orthogonal to the engaging direction on the opposing pair of side surfaces of a first casing, provides on the opposing pair of sidewalls of the other casing a pair of engaging plates which can move in the direction orthogonal to the engaging direction, an operation lever which can swing in order to move said plates in a straight line, and guiding grooves which allow the insertion of the engaging protrusions, provides on each of the engaging plates at least two engaging grooves which are parallel to each other and where the engaging protrusions are inserted, having slanting portions which are slanted with respect to the engaging direction, while providing on the sidewalls of the casing a pair of sliding grooves which can store and allow the sliding of said engaging plates in the direction orthogonal to the engaging direction.
