Abstract
Digital image processing apparatus, making use of both diagonal interpolators and a binary mask, for deriving a displayed enlarged image from an input image without introducing visible “staircasing”, blurred edges and non-linear artifacts in the enlarged image to thereby produce a perceptually natural looking enlarged image that retains the “look and feel” of the input image.
