Abstract
The present invention relates to a novel oligospirostanoside having the structure 3-0-[&agr;-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-&agr;-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)-0-&bgr;-D-glucopyranosyl]-25(S)-5&bgr;-spirostan-3&bgr;-ol isolated from and to a pharmaceutical composition containing the novel oligospirostanoside and to a method for immunomodulation using said oligospirostanoside by administering a pharmaceutically effective amount of said novel oligospirostanoside.
