Abstract

In medical guide wire ( A), a tapered second helical spring ( ) is interposed continuously between a first helical spring ( ) and the third helical spring ( ) each wound around a leading end portion ( ). From a middle portion of the second helical spring ( ) to a leading top end of the first helical spring ( ), a spiral blood stream path ( ) is serially provided along a line gap (C ) of the helical springs ( ). A gap-stopper ( ) is provided between the leading end portion ( ) and the second helical spring ( ) in order to induce a high speed spiral blood flow ( ) along the spiral blood stream path ( ) when the leading end portion ( ) reaches a diseased area ( ). The high speed spiral blood flow ( ) provides the leading end portion ( ) with the advancing force (F) and the rotational force (T).
