Abstract
A midsole structure for an athletic shoe includes an upper midsole ( ) formed of a soft elastic material and disposed from a heel region to a forefoot region of the shoe, a lower midsole ( ) formed of a soft elastic material and disposed at least at the heel region of the shoe under the upper midsole ( ) and a corrugated sheet ( ) sandwiched between the upper and lower midsoles ( ) and extending from a heel portion (H) of the upper midsole ( ) to a midfoot portion (M). The corrugated sheet ( ) has a laterally extending sheet portion ( ) and a medially extending sheet portion ( ). Edges ( ) of the laterally and medially extending sheet portions ( ) are overlapped in a band-shape and connected to each other. The edge ( ), or a boundary line between the laterally and medially extending sheet portions ( ) crosses a load transfer curve (T ) for a heel striker who strikes onto the ground from the heel region of the shoe.
